I Don’t Condemn You: At the Foot of Your Cross

The truth makes us feel uncomfortable. The truth of the cross of Christ shakes, pierces and resonates in me to the depths of the soul beyond superficial shame, and ultimately leads me to the restoration of a truthful conscience. It causes me to vomit up the fruit of knowledge of good and evil and makes me give up my self-righteousness. At His feet my ego dies, and through that death all the laws and ethics that condemned me die also.

I meditated over the stories and biblical narratives of three women: the sinful woman who wiped Jesus’ feet with her hair and poured perfume and tears over them, the woman caught in adultery and Gomer, the cheating wife of the prophet Hosea who betrayed him over and over again. I projected the image of these women unto an image that resembled my likeness. This ironically, in reverse, led me to my own repentance. So that the woman we see, lies like a child reborn on a blanket as white as snow.

And He says, “ I do not condemn you”.

God’s unrelenting love came to me recklessly, overwhelmingly and I received undeservedly. He calls us to the path of eternal life by His beautiful name.
